Our Inclusive Sweat Community

Hey all,

One of the best things about running a small studio is the honest sense of community. My clients are the people that I spend most of my time, we develop friendships. We get to create a sense of security, inclusion, comradery and loyalty that is beneficial to all. My step son graduated from Military Police School last week and I had a death in my family unfortunately, so I was out of town. This could potentially be very problematic, since I am the sole trainer, owner and all things AX Fitness. However, my sweat community continued their fitness journey together in my studio without me. I created a number of workouts, gave them access to the studio and they came together, encouraged each other and stayed on their fitness program. I had a few personal training clients that did virtual programming as well. I have included a few photos that they sent me. I did have a client that was traveling at the same time but he shared his tutu wearing self while white water rafting in Colorado.

I feel like there are just so many reasons for this kind of thing to be recognized and celebrated. The gym can be intimidating for many people for a series of reasons. I have an eclectic community and each person is welcomed and embraced for their differences. We celebrate the sources and ideas that we are similar in, and cherish our fitness togetherness. Some days are hard, some days are more fun than others, some days we share stories about our lives, some days we share ideas and some days we struggle just to get to the studio. On all the days we truly care for and respect each other and that’s a really BIG DAMN DEAL with everything going on today. We all need more of this in our lives. I am grateful and thankful for our little community on Nokomis Ave, you too can be part of our inclusive sweat community!

HAPPY PRIDE EVERYONE! CELEBRATE YOU!
